“Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely”
2 03 2008I think this statement is false, because everyone has power and not everyone is corrupted. I would not know what it would be like if one person had absolute power, because they can not control how some one else lives. If some one has power they have a reason to do every action that they perform may it result in a positive or negative outcome. Many people who have power must use it wisely because even one mistake can cause a huge problem such as an up rise and may lead to an over through of the person in power. Even though having power is both good and bad we can not have absolute power, can we control weather, can we control nature, can we control even our self? We may anticipate what happens but how we react to the environment is not fully up to us.
This statement is actually true because absolute power means that one person has all the power so that means it will end up with corruption!
I think this is a very interesting idea, “we can not have absolute power, can we control weather, can we control nature, can we control even our self? We may anticipate what happens but how we react to the environment is not fully up to us.”
Can you give some examples of people who not been corrupted by power?
Evan-
I think that your peice was really good. I have a couple of suggestions for you.
First, you should ask more questions, to get the reader really interested.
Second, you should try to explain what you think the quote means.
Other than that, your piece was great!!!
